Te Arawa Arataua | Te Arawa Primary Sector is a collective of Te Arawa organisations that own, control and/or administer more than 30,000ha of land used in the primary sector, including agriculture, horticulture, forestry, geothermal and more.
As a fervent advocate for Te Arawa land trusts and primary producer organisations, we share our knowledge and resources in order to create more options for members to develop opportunities, optimise returns, explore land-use alternatives, and address upcoming challenges such as freshwater management and climate change.
Our purpose is to help member land trusts and incorporations increase productivity, profitability and environmental sustainability so they can further their own hapū and iwi development.
Together, our collective voice gives us more visibility and presence when dealing with local and central government, allowing more effective and efficient advocacy of our members’ needs, views, and concerns. Our well-established relationships with agencies and organisations across government and the primary sector allow us to help facilitate the best outcomes for Māori landowners.
If, as a Māori land governor, you would like help or more support to understand the primary sector landscape, please contact us now.
